These Islamic geometric brass tiles carry interlaced eight-point stars and hexagons, all drawn in raised strapwork, the classic repeat of the tradition. The strapwork continues from one tile to the next, so nine tiles make a square panel and a larger set lines a whole backsplash.

Sizes and coverage
Choose from the Size and set menu. Figures assume tiles butted together.
- 20 cm, 8 tiles: 0.32 m² (3.4 sq ft), e.g. 4 x 2 tiles = 80 x 40 cm
- 20 cm, 12 tiles: 0.48 m² (5.2 sq ft), e.g. 4 x 3 tiles = 80 x 60 cm
- 20 cm, 16 tiles: 0.64 m² (6.9 sq ft), e.g. 4 x 4 tiles = 80 x 80 cm
- 20 cm, 20 tiles: 0.80 m² (8.6 sq ft), e.g. 5 x 4 tiles = 100 x 80 cm
- 30 cm, 4 tiles: 0.36 m² (3.9 sq ft), e.g. 2 x 2 tiles = 60 x 60 cm
- 30 cm, 6 tiles: 0.54 m² (5.8 sq ft), e.g. 3 x 2 tiles = 90 x 60 cm
- 30 cm, 9 tiles: 0.81 m² (8.7 sq ft), e.g. 3 x 3 tiles = 90 x 90 cm
The tiles cannot be cut, so plan the layout around whole tiles. Three 30 cm tiles across span 90 cm (35.4 in).
Where to use it
- Behind a kitchen range or along the sink wall
- Fireplace surround, chimney breast or overmantel
- Above a bathroom basin, as a vanity backsplash
- Feature wall in a living room, dining room or entrance hall
- Glued onto wood: cabinet, hutch or armoire doors
Installing and care
Fill the hollow backs with tile adhesive and set the tiles on a flat, clean wall as you would ceramic tile, finishing with grout or caulk. Any tile can instead hang alone from its back hanger. Behind a cooktop, leave the clearance your cooktop maker asks for. Tiles cannot be cut, so work out the layout in whole tiles first. To clean, use a soft, damp cloth, then dry; abrasives and strong cleaners strip the patina.
