Why Choose Handcrafted Brass

  • Each piece is individually made by skilled artisans — no two are exactly alike
  • Solid brass sheet, about 1 mm thick — hand embossed on a hand-punched ground, never printed
  • Tiles are 6 mm deep with a raised rim and a hollow back to set in tile adhesive, plus a small hanger; one-piece panels are 10 mm deep, backed with a wooden board and a small hanger
  • Finished in an aged bronze patina sealed with wax — to clean, wipe with a soft damp cloth, no abrasives

We offer free shipping on all orders via UPS, DHL, and FedEx. Every tile and panel is made to order and packed for transit. We ship worldwide.

On these Moroccan brass tiles, six-point stars and hexagons lock together over the whole face in one continuous strapwork lattice with no single centre. Because the lattice has no focal point, a set spreads evenly across a wall, as repeating Moorish geometry does.

Details

  • Material: solid brass sheet about 1 mm thick, embossed by hand over a hand-punched ground
  • Finish: aged bronze patina, sealed with wax
  • Size: 20 x 20 cm (7.9 x 7.9 in) or 30 x 30 cm (11.8 x 11.8 in) per tile
  • Depth: 6 mm, with a raised rim around each tile; the back is hollow and has a small hanger
  • Comes as: sets of tiles in the size you choose
  • Handmade: each piece is embossed to order, so relief and patina vary slightly from the photos

Sizes and coverage

Pick a Size, then a Number of tiles. Figures assume tiles butted together.

  • 20 x 20 cm with 8 tiles: 0.32 m² (3.4 sq ft), e.g. 4 x 2 tiles = 80 x 40 cm
  • 20 x 20 cm with 12 tiles: 0.48 m² (5.2 sq ft), e.g. 4 x 3 tiles = 80 x 60 cm
  • 20 x 20 cm with 16 tiles: 0.64 m² (6.9 sq ft), e.g. 4 x 4 tiles = 80 x 80 cm
  • 20 x 20 cm with 20 tiles: 0.80 m² (8.6 sq ft), e.g. 5 x 4 tiles = 100 x 80 cm
  • 30 x 30 cm with 4 tiles: 0.36 m² (3.9 sq ft), e.g. 2 x 2 tiles = 60 x 60 cm
  • 30 x 30 cm with 6 tiles: 0.54 m² (5.8 sq ft), e.g. 3 x 2 tiles = 90 x 60 cm
  • 30 x 30 cm with 9 tiles: 0.81 m² (8.7 sq ft), e.g. 3 x 3 tiles = 90 x 90 cm

The tiles cannot be cut, so plan the layout around whole tiles.

Where to use it

  • Behind a kitchen range or along the sink wall
  • Above a bathroom basin, as a vanity backsplash
  • Feature wall in a living room, dining room or entrance hall
  • Facing a kitchen island or breakfast bar

Installing and care

Fill the hollow backs with tile adhesive and set the tiles on a flat, clean wall as you would ceramic tile, finishing with grout or caulk. Any tile can instead hang alone from its back hanger. Behind a cooktop, leave the clearance your cooktop maker asks for. Tiles cannot be cut, so work out the layout in whole tiles first. Clean with a soft, damp cloth and dry it off; scouring pads and harsh cleaners will wear through the patina.
