This is the pattern most people picture the moment they hear the word mashrabiya: a repeating eight-point star, hand-cut in warm, pale solid beech. Where the turned-spindle style relies on rounded, lathe-turned pieces, this is flat-cut geometric lattice — every star and the negative space around it cut by hand, so the pattern's clean lines and repeating geometry come through with real precision.
Please note: The price shown is a starting price. Every piece is made to your dimensions, so send us your finished size and we will confirm the final price and lead time before production begins.
Beech is a deliberate choice here: its pale, even tone lets the star geometry read clearly rather than getting lost in heavy grain or a dark stain, which is part of why it's the wood most closely associated with this exact pattern. Use it as a wall feature behind a sofa or bed, a cabinet or radiator insert, a section within a larger screen, a balustrade infill, or even a ceiling panel — the star lattice ventilates and filters light while adding unmistakable Egyptian character to whatever surface it covers.
Made to order in solid beech (other woods available on request): choose the panel size, the pattern scale — larger stars for a bolder look, smaller for finer detail — and the finish, natural, stained or painted. Supplied flat and ready to fix or frame. As with any solid-wood lattice, keep it away from sustained damp and refresh a natural finish periodically.
Made to order — send your panel dimensions and we'll confirm lead time and price with your quote.
