Our pendant lights are the part of the collection people most often build a room around. Each one is solid brass, pierced by hand, and hung on a chain. When it's lit, the pattern spreads across the ceiling and walls, and the brass glows warm even when it's off. You'll find single pendants here for a bedside or a small table, matched pairs and sets for a kitchen island, and clusters of five, seven or nine lamps for a stairwell or a double-height hall.
One, a Set or a Cluster?
A single pendant ($400–$600) suits a bedside, a reading corner, a small bathroom or a table for two. Singles run from about 7 inches across to 18 inches.
A pair or a set of three is the usual answer for a kitchen island or a long dining table. Because the lamps are made together, they match one another and the row reads as one design. Pairs are $550–$650, and sets of three run from about $750 to $1,400.
A cluster of five, seven or nine lamps is the statement option, for a stairwell, a foyer or a large dining room where a single fixture would look lost. Sets of five run from $1,250 to $1,500, sets of seven are around $2,000, and the largest 9-light piece is $2,500. Some hang from one shared canopy and others as separate pendants; the photos and product page show which. Several sets can be customised. Choosing a Size
- Kitchen island: smaller pendants, 8 to 12 inches, spaced 24 to 30 inches apart. Two suit a 4-foot island, three a 6-foot one.
- Dining table: a pendant about half to two-thirds the width of the table. For a 36-inch round table, that's 16 to 20 inches, or a cluster of three smaller lamps.
- Entryway or stairwell: go larger than you think, or choose a cluster. A small pendant looks lost under a high ceiling.
- Bedside: a single small pendant on each side frees up the nightstand.
Hang pendants 30 to 36 inches above a table or counter. Where people walk underneath, keep the bottom at least 7 feet from the floor. Our pendant light guide and kitchen island guide go into more detail.
Pierced Brass or Hand-Blown Glass?
Most pendants here are pierced brass, where the light passes through the cut pattern and throws sharp shadows around the room. A few clusters use hand-blown glass drops on brass fittings instead. The glass spreads the light into a softer, more even glow, which is better if you want working light over a counter. If the shadow pattern is why you want a Moroccan lamp, choose brass.
Finishes and Bulbs
Most pendants come in four finishes: silver, gold, black or bronze. You pick yours with the selector on the product page, and a few are made only in the finish shown. The lamps take standard E26 bulbs (not included). A clear warm-white LED gives the crispest pattern, and a dimmer lets you turn a bright kitchen light into a soft evening one. Every finish is applied by hand, so small variations are part of the piece. Dust with a soft, dry cloth, and avoid polishes and chemical cleaners.
Installation
Almost every pendant is hardwired. It hangs on an adjustable chain from a ceiling canopy that fixes to a standard junction box, so the drop can be set to suit your room. One hanging lantern plugs in with an inline switch instead, and its product page says so. We recommend having a qualified electrician fit it. Every pendant comes with UL-listed wire.
