This is our whole range of Moroccan lamps in one place: mostly hanging pendants, plus a few table and floor lamps. Every one is solid brass with a pattern punched by hand, so when it's switched on the room around it fills with light and shadow. Use this page to find the shape and size you like, or go straight to pendant lights, ceiling lights, chandeliers, lanterns or wall sconces if you already know what you want.
Choosing a Shape
Globes send light out evenly in every direction and cover the ceiling and walls with pattern. They're the easiest shape to live with. Teardrops taper to a point and look good hung in a row over a kitchen island. Domes and lantern-shaped pendants throw more of their light downward, which suits a dining table. For something more unusual, a few pendants have coloured glass set into the brass, and one tall silver-plated pendant stands 28 inches high for a stairwell or a double-height hallway.
Choosing a Size
Many of the pendants come in three sizes, chosen on the product page: roughly 12, 16 or 20 inches across. A good starting point:
- 12 inches: hallways, bedsides, bathrooms, and in pairs or threes over a kitchen island.
- 16 inches: the everyday size, right for most entryways, kitchens and dining tables for four to six.
- 20 inches and up: a single statement piece over a large dining table, in an open-plan living room or under a high ceiling.
Over a kitchen island, allow about 24 to 30 inches between pendants, and keep them at least 6 inches in from each end of the counter. Hang pendants 30 to 36 inches above a table or countertop. In a walkway, keep the bottom of the lamp at least 7 feet off the floor. Our size guide goes into more detail.
Table and Floor Lamps
The table and floor lamps ($250–$375) plug straight into the wall and switch on and off from the cord, so there's no installation. Our floor lamps are low, lantern-style pieces that sit on the floor, not tall standing lamps. Put one in a corner or beside a chair and it throws its pattern across the lower wall. The table lamps suit a nightstand, a sideboard or a kitchen counter.
Finishes
Most of our lamps come in four finishes: silver, gold, black or bronze. You pick yours with the selector on the product page, and a few are made only in the finish shown. Gold and bronze give off a warm, honey-coloured light. Silver looks cooler and crisper against grey or white walls. Black makes the pattern stand out most when the lamp is lit. Every finish is applied by hand, so small variations are normal. To clean, just dust with a soft dry cloth. Polish and chemical cleaners can strip the finish.
Bulbs and Installation
Every lamp takes a standard E26 bulb (not included). A clear warm-white LED gives you the sharpest pattern. The hanging lamps are hardwired: they hang on an adjustable chain from a ceiling canopy that fixes over a standard junction box, so any electrician can fit one. A few hanging lanterns plug in instead, and each product page says which. Every lamp comes with UL-listed wire. The lamps are made for indoor use and are fine on a covered porch, but keep them out of direct rain.
Most lamps are made to order and ship free worldwide. If you're weighing up sizes or finishes for a particular room, get in touch and we'll help you choose.
