A handmade Moroccan chest of drawers in beech, inlaid with natural mother of pearl, with a single shell medallion anchoring the lid — the mark that tells it apart from its three-panel counterpart. Each fragment of shell is hand-cut and fitted into the geometric pattern against several contrasting woods, and it doubles readily as a jewellery chest.
The iridescence of the shell shifts as the light moves across the wood, and the handmade inlay makes every chest one of a kind. It measures 25 in long, 13 in deep and 15 in high — a piece for a dresser or console rather than the floor.
