A vintage Moroccan inlay side table worked in three materials: 100% natural mother of pearl, brass and several contrasting woods, all set by hand into a quality beech carcass. The brass carries a warmer, darker line through the pattern than shell alone would give — the mark of a maker willing to complicate his own work.
At 29.5 inches (75 cm) high and 21 inches wide it is the tallest of the side tables here, suited to a bedside, a reading chair or the end of a sofa. Many hours of handwork went into the inlay, and the vintage surface carries them well.
