A dense flowering thicket in scarlet, crimson and cream, with sunflowers at the left, white egrets stalking through the undergrowth and a raft of ducks riding a band of turquoise water at the foot. Almost the entire surface is leaf and blossom, worked in individual pointed shapes — hundreds of them, no two the same colour sequence.
Handwoven wool on cotton warp, freehand and unrepeatable, with a knotted fringe. This is one of the richer, more painterly panels in this group: it holds a large wall on its own and needs nothing hung near it.
