Moroccan Chandelier Sizing Guide: What Size Do You Need?
Posted by E Kenoz on 3rd Apr 2026
A Moroccan chandelier is the fastest way to transform a plain room into something extraordinary. But choosing the wrong size — too small and it disappears, too large and it overwhelms — is the most common mistake.
The Simple Sizing Formula
Add your room's length and width in feet. That number, in inches, is your ideal chandelier diameter. A 12×14 foot dining room = 26-inch chandelier. A 10×10 bedroom = 20-inch chandelier.

Dining Room Chandeliers
Over a dining table, the chandelier should be 6-12 inches narrower than the table. Hang it 30-36 inches above the table surface. For rectangular tables longer than 6 feet, consider two smaller chandeliers spaced evenly.
Foyer and Entryway Chandeliers
For two-story foyers with 16+ foot ceilings, go big — 30-36 inch chandeliers create the dramatic scale these spaces demand. Our Moroccan chandeliers ship fully assembled with adjustable chain length.

Ceiling Height Matters
The bottom of the chandelier should hang at least 7 feet from the floor in walkways, or 30 inches above tables. For every additional foot of ceiling height above 8 feet, add 3 inches of chain length.
