This tapestry is woven entirely by hand on a traditional wooden loom in Egypt, in handspun wool coloured only with natural plant dyes. Every tree, bird and figure is improvised straight onto the loom as the piece grows. Nothing is copied and nothing is repeated, so no two works are ever alike and each one is a true original rather than a reproduction.
The natural dyes give deep, soft colours that age beautifully, never look printed, and are completely eco-friendly. The piece is signed by the artist in the weave.
